January at the Vero Beach Museum of Art is shaping up to be spectacular!

Three exhibitions that collectively ask: what does it mean to be American, to build boldly, and to dream about the future?

The main feature, "American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection" (January 31 – June 7, 2026), traces the evolution of American art through 80 works spanning 250 years with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries — landscapes, scenes, and portraits that showcase the evolution of American art and its unique styles and thought-provoking expressions across generations. Perfect timing as we approach the nation's 250th birthday.

"Construction: from Abstraction to Architecture" (February 7 – June 21, 2026) examines how artists became obsessed with the built environment, featuring works including Christo and Jeanne-Claude pieces and exploring construction's lasting impact on modern art.

Meanwhile, "Museum in the Garden: Envisioning the New VBMA" (January 9, 2026–February 7, 2027) offers a behind-the-scenes look at Allied Works' and Unknown Studio's designs for the museum's expansion currently underway.

The January 30 Spring Gala, titled "From Sea to Shining Sea," promises regional cuisine set to the sounds of the Great American Songbook -- a perfect companion to American Made's debut.

February brings Fashion Meets Art, featuring Isaac Mizrahi, the designer who democratized couture by bringing his iconic runway designs to the mass market (more on that here).

While the Gala is sold out, tickets are still available for Fashion Meets Art and can be purchased here or by emailing vbmaevents@vbmuseum.org or calling 772.231.0707, ext. 111.
