Fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi will headline the Vero Beach Museum of Art's signature fundraiser, Fashion Meets Art, on February 18, 2026. Few figures have shaped fashion and culture with such wit, originality, and enduring influence.
Mizrahi's creative fire ignited early—buying his first sewing machine at eleven and launching his first fashion label by the time his peers were still choosing colleges. That relentless drive led to his triumphant Fall 1994 collection, a bold lineup featuring neon-hued faux furs, colorful puffer jackets, and swirling cocktail dresses in bubblegum colors that captivated the fashion world. Supermodels like Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, and Carla Bruni brought his vision to life on the runway. The collection was immortalized in the cult classic Unzipped, the Sundance Audience Award-winning documentary which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.

Since then, Mizrahi has built an empire that spans far beyond fashion -- Emmy-winning talk show host for seven seasons, Project Runway: All Stars judge, Broadway debut in Chicago in 2022, and a decade-long residency at New York's Café Carlyle that sells out year after year. Add a New York Times bestselling memoir, and you have a storyteller who conquers every medium he touches.
In 2003, Target hired Mizrahi to design an exclusive collection of women's sportswear and accessories. As Fashion Meets Art Event Chair Gregory Ness-Vasko, principal designer at Coastal Interiors, notes, “He is one of the few whose name is synonymous not only with couture but also with attainable fashion for everyone."
Now in its 8th year Fashion Meets Art was founded by Karen Loeffler with co-chair Melinda Cooper of Cooper & Co and has become the cultural event of the season. Past featured designers were Simon Doonan (2018), Jonathan Adler (2019), Hal Rubenstein (2020), Kim Alexis (2021), Christian Siriano (2022), Badgley Mischka (2023), Tim Gunn (2024), and Christie Brinkley (2025).
This February, Isaac Mizrahi continues that tradition with an evening of razor-sharp insights, irresistible stories, and unforgettable glamour—all supporting the Museum's educational programs.
