The Battle for Best Burger is On

The showdown is on as the best burger in Indian River County gets decided this Saturday, June 27.

Eleven competitors. Live music by East Harbor. A Classic Car Show, food trucks, a Kid Zone, and craft brewery tastings. Gates open at 11 a.m. at 7955 58th Avenue.

Every day, roughly 750 people walk through United Against Poverty's doors in Vero Beach for affordable groceries, job training, crisis support, or just someone to sit with them and help them figure out their next move. Last year alone, 183 adults found employment through their STEP workforce program, putting $3.7 million in earned income back into Indian River County. We are lucky to have them, and Saturday is one of the best ways to say thank you.

Congratulations to winner Martin DuBose, who takes home the first Combo Ticket: five sliders, ten brewery tastings, and a souvenir cup. One more is still up for grabs. Enter here.

A special thanks to Jane McNulty-Snead, UAP's director of development, for showing us around this month. Jane knows the organization from the inside out, herself a graduate of UAP's STEP workforce program. And a shoutout to Annabel Robertson, of Indian River State College, whose name graces UAP's health clinic. We'll be catching up with her for a future story.
