Riverside Theatre Opens Season with a Triumph: My Vaudeville Man!

ENTERTAINMENT ON TAP!
In a glowing review for Vero Beach 32963, critic Terry Girard calls Riverside Theatre’s season opener, My Vaudeville Man!, "entertainment on tap."
Girard praises the "playful and clever" score, noting that Joseph Cullinane shows “the charisma and skill that made the real-life Donahue a star,” while Terra C. MacLeod, as Jack’s mother, “displays a full spectrum of emotion.”

The musical tells the remarkable true story of Jack Donahue, the legendary 1920s tap icon and eccentric hoofer. After running away as a teen, Donahue clawed his way up from medicine shows and small-time vaudeville circuits to become a Broadway giant, ultimately headlining the Ziegfeld Follies, starring alongside Marilyn Miller, writing bestsellers for The Saturday Evening Post, and defining an era of American comedy before his tragic, early death at age 38.
Staged in the round, audience members sit just feet from the breathtaking footwork for this high-energy 95-minute evening.
