Recently, I sat down for a dinner at Salvador Deli at Walking Tree Brewery that I was lucky enough to win at last year's Mural Festival fundraiser.

Salvador Deli is the latest venture of Kilted Mermaid owner Linda Moore, who also holds a seat on the Vero Beach City Council and has served as vice mayor. She and her business partner Courtney Cotherman are looking to host more dinners at Salvador Deli, and we'll be sharing details on how to sign up soon.

When she's not in the kitchen or at the dais, Moore is one of the chief organizers of the Vero Beach Mural Project, the initiative that has been bringing large-scale public art to downtown walls since 2019.

The murals painted downtown this past November will be finding permanent homes across various downtown locations this weekend.

The next full Mural Festival is slated for November 2027. Before then, this November the team is hosting a fundraiser at the Heritage Center. The Theater Guild will assist in transforming the space into a full speakeasy. Stay tuned for the date.

In the meantime, Moore is organizing volunteers to paint downtown fire hydrants red, white, and blue ahead of the America 250 parade. "It's about every little thing we can do to make downtown more beautiful," she says. "More walkable. More interesting."
