Inside Windsor: Reserve an Afternoon of Lunch, Art, Wine, and Conversation

What if you could spend an afternoon at Windsor? The Gallery is making it possible this season, with docent-led tours, lunch and wine at the Clubhouse for just $60, all open to the public. By appointment only.

Last week, architects, designers, artists and community leaders gathered in the gallery for a cocktail reception celebrating Reflection, a major new exhibition by British-Bangladeshi artist Rana Begum, whose precisely structured works explore the interplay of light, color, and industrial materials. The setting is the private community designed by Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk — the same planners behind the design proposals for Three Corners, soon to become the premier waterfront destination along the Indian River Lagoon.

Reflection, on view through May 8, is Begum's first South Florida presentation and is curated by Daniel S. Palmer, Chief Curator of the SCAD Museum of Art. Spanning more than a decade of her practice, the exhibition brings together wall-mounted works and sculptural installations, from walls of automobile reflectors to painted glass and chain-link form that respond to the viewer's movement and shifts in light.

To reiterate, exhibits are open to the public only by appointment (see contact details below).

Your name(s) must be at Windsor's security gate to gain access to the property.

For just $60, visitors can book a docent-led tour individually or for up to 12 guests, with lunch, and wine in the Clubhouse. The price includes a $15 tax-deductible donation to The Windsor Charitable Foundation supporting local arts nonprofits. Among the docents is Xaque Gruber, a Vero Beach–based filmmaker, arts educator, and VBMA faculty member, adding a familiar and knowledgeable local voice to the experience.

Founded in 2002 under the direction of Windsor co-founder The late Hon. Hilary M. Weston and her daughter Alannah Weston, The Gallery has hosted exhibitions of artists such as Peter Doig, Ed Ruscha, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Jasper Johns, and Grayson Perry, often in collaboration with leading international institutions. Reflection continues that tradition of bringing museum-caliber contemporary art to a private community while opening the experience to the public. “I feel that if you don’t share with the locals,” Alannah says, “or even with visitors, then somehow it’s less real.”

Reservations may be made by calling (772) 388-4071 or emailing gallery@windsorflorida.com, with further details at windsorflorida.com/gallery.
