This past Downtown Friday Gallery Stroll felt like something shifted—in the best way. The heart of Vero’s historic arts district came alive with color, music, and that unmistakable buzz that happens when people come together to experience art and creativity.
What started as a quiet effort to reinvigorate the area continues to evolve into something that’s beginning to feel almost Key West-ish. There’s an energy now—a mix of old Florida charm and artsy spirit, where galleries keep their doors open later and conversations spill out onto the sidewalks.
And then there was Francis Mesaros at Gallery 14.
Let’s just say—if you came expecting beachy prints and tourist trinkets, his work made it instantly clear: this isn’t just a charming little stroll. This is fine art, and the caliber is no joke. Represented by Gallery 14 for many years, Mesaros has built a name for himself with sculpted oil paintings so intricate and dimensional, they almost feel alive. He even holds a U.S. patent for the custom tool and process he invented to create them.
His showstopper, “Caribbean Sunset II”, priced at $32,000, was a jaw-drop moment for gallery goers—layers of color and movement sculpted right onto the canvas. Another standout, “Full Moon Riding”, available at $11,500, drew people in like a secret—you just had to get closer.

The night had something for everyone—art lovers, curious newcomers, collectors, even folks who just came to sip wine and wander. But more than anything, it felt like a glimpse of where Vero’s arts scene is headed. Authentic, inviting, and full of talent worth discovering. Once that made people pause, whisper and realize this isn’t just a night out. It’s a serious art scene unfolding in the heart of Vero.
If you missed it, don’t worry. This isn’t a one-time thing. It’s every first Friday of the month from 5 – 8 (except 4th of July weekend), which will be rescheduled for Friday, July 11.
Never miss a Vero Minute.
