VBMA Shifts Into Summer Mode

As of yesterday, the Vero Beach Museum of Art has officially transitioned to its summer schedule.

Galleries are now closed Mondays and open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Complimentary docent-led tours continue daily at 2 p.m. And if you've been meaning to take a class, the time is now: summer registration is open, with the new term running June 1 through August 8.

Before You Miss It

You have two weeks left to catch American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, which closes June 7. The show spans 250 years of American art (Sargent, Cassatt, Mary Peale, and more) and it's gone before summer really gets going.

Also still on view: Construction: from Abstraction to Architecture (through July 12) and the ongoing Museum in the Garden: Envisioning the New VBMA (through January 2027), which traces the architectural designs for the museum's bold expansion.

Coming up: naturalist-artist James Prosek brings more than 70 works to the Holmes Gallery starting July 11, followed by abstract painter Jill Nathanson's Chromatic Phrases on July 25.

Summer Classes Worth Knowing About

The new term has something for everyone: Gardens in Art History (Tuesdays, evenings), Still Life Painting and Abstract Painting with Barry Shapiro, and more contemplative offerings like Chair Yoga and Qigong for those who want art-adjacent renewal. Full schedule and registration at vbmuseum.org.
