Vero Beach Life, Curated

This Father's Day Weekend: Free Fun at Vero Beach's Environmental Learning Center

The Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach is offering free admission this Father's Day weekend – June 14th and 15th – celebrating both National Get Outdoors Day and dads everywhere.

The draw? Elevated boardwalks wind through mangroves where kids spot crabs and you might finally see that osprey you've been hearing about. The center has the only touch tank in Indian River County where kids can actually handle sea creatures, plus aquariums, hands-on exhibits, and a Nature Playscape designed to let kids be kids while you catch your breath.

The Indian River Lagoon stretches out peaceful and wide, perfect for easy conversation. Pack a lunch for the palm-shaded picnic areas, or spread out in the open field with room for tossing a ball or flying a kite. Kona Ice will be there when everyone needs to cool off.

Open 8 AM to 4 PM both days. No tickets, no reservations. They're offering $10 off memberships if you want to return.

Sometimes the best weekend plans are the ones that get everyone outside, hands dirty, asking questions, and actually talking to each other. This weekend, that's exactly what's on offer.
