Experience Stillness at McKee

This is your last week to catch Florigami in the Garden at McKee Botanical Garden. The monumental origami-inspired metal sculptures come down and the cranes fly away after Sunday, May 24.

In its place, McKee invites you to experience the garden through The Jungle Experience: A Path to Stillness, beginning this Wednesday, May 20.

Rooted in the Japanese practice of forest bathing, expect a slow, guided walk through McKee's historic canopy designed to engage the senses and quiet the mind and keep you grounded in the present, concluding with a tea ceremony.

Your host? Kate Pisacreta, one of McKee's most knowledgeable guides, who possesses decades of hands-on work experience with tropical plants across the Caribbean and California.

First things first, turn off your phone. You will be asked to leave them behind or turn them off, allowing you to escape the noise of a digital existence and truly appreciate the stillness.

As McKee celebrates its centennial this year, A Path to Stillness is just one of the many ways the garden honors its legacy and reaffirms its commitment to beauty, community and the critical importance of a living, breathing refuge from the noise of day-to-day existence.

Tickets at mckeegarden.org.
