Backstage With Oscar Sales: A Once-a-Month Riverside Theatre Must-Do

Once a month, for one Friday only, Riverside Theatre opens its doors to a small group of guests for an exclusive backstage tour -- a rare chance to go from “seat in the house” to true insider. And it's happening this Friday, December 5. Two sessions -- one at 10 AM and one at 2 PM. Led by the incomparable Oscar Sales, you won't want to miss it.

In just under an hour and a half, you'll be guided across the main stage and into the wings, through the shops where sets are being built and painted, and into the spaces where costumes and props are prepared for their onstage debut. You’ll see the set designs and props up close, step into the ballet studios where dancers rehearse, and finally connect the onstage magic to the real work happening just out of view.

Along the way, you'll meet the people who bring every production to life, from designers and technicians to stage crew, to hear how a show progresses from idea to opening night. Because each tour reflects whatever is currently in rehearsal or in build, every date feels like a one-time-only experience, which is why Riverside regulars treat it as a monthly must-do.
