Saturday marked the opening of A Tangled Plot at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, featuring more than 40 paintings and mixed-media works by Miami artists Annie Blazejack and Geddes Levenson.
Guests explored the duo’s striking, collaborative artwork, where Florida’s landscapes, wildlife, and human figures intertwine and transform. Blazejack and Levenson take turns layering ideas and images, creating rich, theatrical scenes filled with hybrid creatures and complex narratives about power, nature, and transformation.
The museum hosted special sketching sessions right on the gallery floor. Visitors of all ages pulled up folding stools provided by the museum and joined in, sketching the artworks while the artists walked around offering tips and encouragement. The interactive sessions reflected the museum’s ongoing commitment to making art a welcoming and hands-on experience for everyone.
The opening successfully launched what promises to be a spectacular exhibition running through October 5th, celebrating the connections between art, storytelling, and Florida’s natural environment.
